Pirated software: It's time to hold companies accountable

In an increasingly globalized economy, mounting pressure to produce the cheapest goods possible has thrown many U.S. companies into a cost-cutting frenzy that often includes working with overseas manufacturers that use unlicensed, pirated software. This provides an unfair advantage and hurts California-based companies who ensure their overseas manufacturers use legal information technology (IT) Companies that steal information technology steal our jobs, hurt our economy and it’s time we fight back.
 

As Californians, we pride ourselves on our history as a leader in entrepreneurship, innovation, and IT development. Internet start-ups, software manufacturers and IT companies flocked to our state, which brought higher wages and hundreds of thousands of new jobs to California.
