02.14.2012ITCA is signing on Global Graphics Software, a leading developer of software platforms, as its newest client. Global Graphics is enlisting ITCA to combat piracy issues that are especially prevalent in emerging markets.
“We have been looking at piracy issues for a while, looking for someone who understands piracy issues with strong technical and software knowledge but also with the energy and dynamic to go out and do something about it. ITCA fit that bill,” said Neil Wylie, operations director of Global Graphics.
The company is responsible for developing products including Harlequin, Jaws, and gDoc, which offer solutions for digital printing and electronic document applications. In addition to working with a list of business partners that includes HP, Corel, and Quark, Global Graphics focuses on meeting the needs of emerging markets. Such markets are affected by illegal software use, which creates unfair competition between companies that are compliant and those that engage in piracy.
“In the past we were tackling the most obvious piracy issues that were brought to our attention by engaging with a lawyer directly. We had some successes with this approach but the impact of our actions did not last long. We have realized that piracy is a continuing issue and we want to focus on what we do best, developing software, so we decided to outsource our piracy fighting needs,” said Wylie.
ITCA’s Revenue Recovery Services acts as a means to tackle international piracy through its widespread network of regional offices and its highly qualified business partners. ITCA investigates copyright infringement cases and works diligently through negotiation to reclaim rightful revenue for companies like Global Graphics and its partners. Wylie believes ITCA and its practical approach will deliver timely results. “ITCA closes off the many loopholes and turns software pirates into paying custumers.”
Although he senses improvement in issues of piracy in North America, Wylie said emerging markets remain vulnerable. “Software piracy is illegal and is a crime. We all have to work together to stop it.”
“We build high-end software that adds tremendous value to our partners and clients. We need to work with the software community in combating against piracy and ITCA allows us to do that.”
